Hello everyone!

Recently, I took a couple of art classes and it made me realize a few things. One, I love being able to speak to other artists and receive their feedback. Second, I love the result it gives my creative process.

I found that it gives me so much motivation. So, I’ve decided to try a new skill a month. It will not only get me to build my skills, it will help me explore and build curiosity. But above all, I hope it shows YOU that you CAN try things that are daunting to start.

This month, I’m trying sign painting. The reason I chose this is because it’s expanding a skill I already have. While usually you paint signs with enamel paint and specialty brushes I’m going to use what I have. My hopes for this month is to be comfortable enough to use the industry materials.

In terms of why I even want to expand this skill is because I love the look of hand painted signs. Not only freshly painted but also as it ages. The type itself is something I’m drawn to because how it can create tone. Whether for a business or packaging, it adapts.

So what can YOU expect? My plan is to do a project a week, highlighting sign painting. At the end of the month, I fully go in depth into how each went.
